01 · The brand
The oldest name MaxEnt inherited
BetAt began in 2011 under NRR Entertainment Limited, a Malta-based casino that ran for years on a broad shelf of mainstream studios – Microgaming, NetEnt, Betsoft, Big Time Gaming, Evolution and others – as a slots-and-tables operation rather than a sportsbook. In 2018 it was folded into MaxEnt Limited, the operator behind Slotty Vegas, and from then on shared the group licence and, in the end, the group fate. Of the MaxEnt brands recorded here it carried the longest history, which makes its ending as much a story about a takeover as a shutdown.
02 · The closing and the money
A group shutdown, and a balance left to a deadline
BetAt did not fail on its own; it went dark when MaxEnt closed the whole portfolio, with new deposits halted in June 2022 and a final cash-out date at the end of July. The stage-by-stage notice and the licence history are laid out on the Slotty Vegas record and are not restated here. For a BetAt account the reading is the same qualified one that runs across the group: players were handed a window to withdraw and no mass failure to pay is on record, yet no public reconciliation shows that every balance was cleared. If you still hold one, keep the closing email and your account history. A recent card deposit can sometimes be reversed through the bank; a settled wire or crypto payment cannot.

How we verified this record
Every claim on this page is graded by how firmly the record supports it. “Confirmed” means more than one independent source agrees, or we saw it ourselves. “Observed” means we checked it directly on the date shown. “Unconfirmed” means it rests on reports we could not independently prove.
04 · The questions
BetAt – the questions still open
Q. When did BetAt casino close?
BetAt closed as part of the MaxEnt group shutdown, with a final cash-out deadline of 31 July 2022 and deposits stopped from 21 June 2022. It had already left the UK in 2020 after the group licence was revoked.
Q. Was BetAt older than MaxEnt itself?
Yes. BetAt launched in 2011 under NRR Entertainment Limited and was only acquired by MaxEnt Limited in 2018. That change of control was central to the UK regulator decision to revoke the licence.
Q. Can I still recover a BetAt balance?
No operator remains to chase. Players were directed to a group cash-out deadline at the end of July 2022. Keep your records; a recent card deposit may be disputable with your bank, but wire and crypto payments cannot be reversed.
Q. Is a BetAt site that looks open now the real one?
No. The original BetAt casino is closed. Treat any site using the BetAt name in 2026 as an unrelated third party and check for a current, domain-linked licence before depositing.
