Lucky Hippo was an offshore casino for American players, run by Main Street Vegas Group. It opened in 2018 and closed in August 2025 with no notice we can find. It held no gambling licence. Public complaint files record fourteen disputes against it. One is from a player who says he won a tournament. He says the site closed without paying the prize.

01 · The casino

One of a family of American-facing sites

Lucky Hippo opened in 2018 and took American players on Real Time Gaming software. It held no gambling licence from any regulator, which the complaint services that tracked it state plainly.

It was not a one-off. The operator, Main Street Vegas Group, ran a set of casinos on the same pattern. The casinos included Las Vegas USA, Vegas Casino Online, Slots Plus and Sun Palace. All of them were still trading when we checked. Two others from the same family already have records here, Old Havana and High Country.

That is the thing worth understanding about this part of the market. A group runs several casinos that look like rivals. All of them use the same software, the same terms and the same support team. When one closes, the others carry on. Players who were let down at one site often end up at another without knowing it.

02 · The shutdown

Gone in August 2025

The site closed in August 2025. We could not find a day-level date or a closure notice. We also could not find a deadline for players to cash out, or any statement from the operator.

That silence is normal for this group and for this end of the market. There is no regulator requiring a notice period, so there is no notice period.

The address itself is now completely dead. Loading it today does not even reach a server. That is a step beyond a parked page. The domain has been left to lapse.

The rest of the group carried on trading. Whatever closed Lucky Hippo, it was not the whole business.

03 · The money

Fourteen complaints, and a tournament prize never paid

This is where the record on Lucky Hippo is unusually full. A public complaints service logged fourteen disputes against it: two never resolved, six resolved and six rejected.

The amounts tell you what kind of casino it was. Two hundred and thirty dollars refused with the account blocked. Four hundred and fifty dollars delayed more than a month. One hundred and eighty dollars taken and the account banned after a bonus win. One hundred dollars withheld. There was also a run of delayed payouts. The amounts were one hundred and fifty, one hundred and fifty, one hundred and fifty, and one thousand five hundred dollars.

The one that stands out came in August 2024, a year before the site closed. A player wrote that he had finished first in a tournament. The tournament had ended the day before. He says the casino closed without paying his prize.

None of these are proven. They are player accounts, and six of the fourteen were rejected by the service handling them. But fourteen disputes at one small casino, with the same shape repeating, is a pattern rather than bad luck. We grade the money outcome as owed.

There is no route left. No licence means no regulator, and the site has no working address. The only thing a player can realistically try is a chargeback through their bank or card provider. This only works on a recent deposit.

Main Street Vegas Group still runs other casinos. If you were let down by Lucky Hippo, be aware of something important. Several sites that look like different companies are run by the same operator. They use the same software and the same terms.

How we verified this record

Every claim on this page is graded by how firmly we could check it. Confirmed means we saw it in the operator’s own notice or in a document that cannot easily be faked. Observed means we saw it ourselves on the live site or domain on the date given. Unconfirmed means it has been reported but we could not prove it.

UnconfirmedThe individual complaint amounts and the unpaid tournament prizeAll are player accounts. The operator never responded publicly to any of them.
UnconfirmedThe exact closure dateOnly August 2025 is recorded. No day-level date, notice or deadline exists that we could find.
UnconfirmedWhy the casino closed while its sister sites carried onNo reason has ever been published.
What we checked, and what we did not. We loaded the address ourselves on 10 September 2026 and recorded that it does not resolve. We read the published complaint file for the casino in full and counted the cases and outcomes rather than relying on a summary. We confirmed the operator group and its other casinos across two unrelated sources and against the two sister records already held on this site. We searched for a closure notice, a deadline and an exact date and found none. We did not contact Main Street Vegas Group. Last independently checked: 10 September 2026.
