01 · The brand
A market exit, not a closure
Casumo is not a dead casino and this record does not say it is. It is still trading today under a Gibraltar licence, with a live site, live promotions and apps. What closed was its Ontario business.
That is worth a record of its own because a market exit hits players exactly like a closure does. If you live in Ontario and Casumo was your casino, your account is gone and your money had a deadline on it. It makes no difference to you that the brand is still selling to somebody else in another country.
Casumo entered Ontario in 2022, when Canada opened that province to licensed online gambling. It held a licence from the AGCO and an agreement with iGaming Ontario. This is the proper regulated route. It is not the grey market that Canadians used before that.
It has left a regulated market before. Its British licence was handed back on 3 November 2023, which we checked on the regulator public record. Ontario is the second regulated market it has left.
02 · The shutdown
Six weeks, four deadlines
Ontario players were emailed on 1 April 2026 and given a run of dates. Bonuses had to be claimed by 8 April. Deposits stopped on 23 April. The last day anybody could play was 30 April. And the final date to get money out was 14 May 2026.
Six weeks from first email to final deadline is decent notice. Setting out four separate dates in writing is also better practice than most of the closures on this site.
No reason was given. Casumo was asked and declined to comment. Ontario is a crowded market. A lot of brands are chasing the same players, and several operators have pulled out of it. That is context we can offer. It is not a reason the company has stated.
The regulator said nothing. There was no fine, no investigation and no order. This was a business decision.
03 · The money
The 14 May deadline was real
This is the part Ontario players needed to know. Casumo said in plain terms that any balance not withdrawn by 14 May 2026 would be forfeited. Not held. Not posted out. Forfeited.
That is legal, and it was published six weeks in advance. It is still the single most common way people lose money when a casino leaves a market. Somebody stops checking that email address, or fails an identity check, or has a small balance they cannot be bothered with. Then the deadline passes.
We have not found complaints from Ontario players saying an in-time withdrawal was refused. We have not found confirmation that everyone who asked in time got paid either.
If you were an Ontario player who missed the date, the position is not hopeless but it is not strong. Casumo held an AGCO licence at the time. The AGCO is the body to raise it with. The company still trades and still has a support team. A forfeiture applied under published terms is very hard to reverse, but it costs nothing to ask.
04 · The receipts
How we verified this record
Every claim on this page is graded by how firmly we could check it. Confirmed means we saw it in the operator’s own notice or in a document that cannot easily be faked. Observed means we saw it ourselves on the live site or domain on the date given. Unconfirmed means it has been reported but we could not prove it.
05 · The questions
Casumo Ontario – the questions still open
Q. Has Casumo closed down?
No. It left the Ontario market in spring 2026 but is still trading elsewhere under a Gibraltar licence.
Q. When did Ontario play stop?
30 April 2026. Deposits had already stopped on 23 April.
Q. What was the deadline to withdraw?
14 May 2026. Casumo said any balance not withdrawn by then would be forfeited.
Q. I missed the deadline. Can I still get my money?
It is a long shot. The forfeiture was published six weeks ahead, which makes it hard to challenge. Casumo held an AGCO licence in Ontario, so that is the body to raise it with, and the company still has a support team.
Q. Why did Casumo leave Ontario?
It has not said. It was asked and declined to comment.
Q. Was it forced out by the regulator?
No. There was no fine, order or investigation. It was a business decision.
