01 · The site

A Serbian bookmaker with a Malta arm

Mozzartbet is a betting company from Belgrade in Serbia. It started in 2001 as a chain of betting shops and grew into one of the bigger names in the Balkans. It now takes bets in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia and Romania, and in Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana in Africa.

In each of those countries the company holds a licence from that country. Mozzart.com was different. It was run by a separate company, Mozzartbet Malta Limited, on a licence from the Malta Gaming Authority. That licence is numbered MGA/B2C/606/2018 and the site opened in March 2019.

A Malta licence lets one company take players from a lot of places at once. It does not have to ask each country for its own permission first. For years that was a normal way to run an international betting site. It has become a harder way to work. More and more countries now want operators to hold a local licence in that country. If they do not, they must stay out.

So Mozzart.com was never the main business. It was the outward-facing arm of a group whose money is made in its home countries. That is worth knowing, because it explains why the company can close this site and keep going without much of a dent.

02 · The shutdown

Five weeks of notice

On 27 August 2026 Mozzartbet told its affiliate partners that Mozzart.com would close. The date given was 1 October 2026. That is a little over five weeks of notice.

The reason given was a management decision to work only in markets where the group holds a local licence. In plain words, the company decided the Malta route was no longer worth the cost. It wanted to put its money where it already has permission to trade.

The marketing partner programme attached to Mozzart.com closes at the same time. Partners were told their tracking links would stop working on the closing date.

This is a market exit, not a collapse. The company is not going under. It is closing one arm and keeping the rest. That matters for anyone who has money on the site. A business that is still trading has far more reason to pay people back than one that has run out of cash. It is not a promise, but it is a better starting position than most of the closures on this site.

03 · The money

What we still do not know about balances

This is the weak point in the record. We are not going to hide it. Neither the notice to partners nor the news reports about it say what happens to player balances. They do not say if there is a deadline to withdraw money. They also do not say if accounts can move to one of the group’s other sites.

We have not found a public statement from the operator aimed at players. We have not found complaints about unpaid withdrawals either. So we can say the site is closing on 1 October 2026, and we cannot say what a player holding a balance should expect.

The sensible move for anyone with money on the site is to take it out well before 1 October 2026. Get any identity checks done first. Those checks are what usually hold a payout up. Leaving it to the last day is how balances get stranded.

If the operator publishes instructions for players before the closing date, or if complaints turn up afterwards, this record will be updated.
