01 · The shutdown

Eight days, then gone

The closure email went out on 15 January 2026. It said ToraTora Casino would permanently cease operations on 23 January 2026. From the moment the email was sent, players could no longer buy coin packs or use the free entry method. They could still play with the coins they had and cash out Sweepstakes Coins until the closing date.

The email told players to send cash-out requests quickly to avoid delays. That is a hint that the company expected a rush in the last few days and might not keep up.

A few days before the full closure was announced, ToraTora had said it was leaving Illinois on 10 January 2026. That turned out to be the first step. Within a week, leaving one state became leaving all of them.

ToraTora closed in the same week as Betty Sweeps, another US sweepstakes casino. The two were not connected, but the timing shows how much pressure small sites were under at the start of 2026.

02 · The casino

Too small to survive a crowded market

ToraTora opened in May 2025 with a Japanese-style theme. It was mostly a slots site. It had few table games and a smaller list of game makers than the big sweepstakes brands. In a market with hundreds of similar sites, that made it hard to stand out.

The reasons for the closure, as reported at the time, were the usual ones for a small site in 2026. It cost more and more to bring in new players. Profit margins were getting thinner. And more US states were passing laws against sweepstakes casinos, which shrank the number of people it could serve.

We could not find the name of the company behind ToraTora in the closure email or in reliable public coverage. That is common with small sweepstakes sites. It also means that players with a problem have no clear company to contact now that the site is gone.

03 · The money

Cash-outs up to the closing day

The window for cash-outs ran up to 23 January 2026. There was no separate earlier deadline for requests, which is unusual. Most sites set a request deadline a few days before the close. ToraTora let requests run to the last day, but warned that late ones might be delayed.

We have not seen public complaints of unpaid requests, and we have not seen confirmation that all were paid. The money outcome is therefore Unconfirmed.

If you sent a request before 23 January 2026 and were not paid, keep your screenshots and emails. Without a named company there is little more you can do, but the records may help if the operator is ever identified.

No company has announced a return of ToraTora. Any site using the name now is not the original and should be treated with care.

How we verified this record

Every claim on this page is graded by how firmly we could check it. Confirmed means we saw it in the operator’s own notice or in a document that cannot easily be faked. Observed means we saw it ourselves on the live site or domain on the date given. Unconfirmed means it has been reported but we could not prove it.

We did not contact the operator, we could not identify the company, we did not load the domain for this record, and we have no player or balance data. Last independently checked: 2 September 2026.
