01 · The site

Danish run, Malta licensed, six months old

Betit went live in the Danish market on 1 August 2025, with a casino and a sportsbook.

The company behind it was Betit Operations Limited. In an interview in August 2025 it described itself as founded and run by Danish people. It said all decisions were made in Denmark, and that it held a Malta licence alongside its Danish one.

That is a normal setup. What is not normal is what happened next.

02 · The shutdown

Announced, delayed, then closed anyway

The first closing date announced was 28 December 2025. That is under five months after launch.

That date was then pushed back. The site finally closed on 29 January 2026.

No reason was given for closing, and no reason was given for the delay either. Danish coverage records both decisions and neither explanation.

It closed on exactly the same day as NetBet Denmark, which we also hold a record for. The two are separate companies and we have found nothing connecting them. Two sites shutting on one day says something about the Danish market in early 2026 rather than about either business.

A gambling licence takes months to get and costs real money. Nobody goes through that intending to stop in six months. Something went wrong quickly, and nobody has said what.

03 · The money

Unsettled bets were cancelled and refunded

Players were told to withdraw everything before the closing date.

Betit handled open bets sensibly. Any bet that would have settled after the closing date was cancelled. The stake was put back into the account balance so it could be withdrawn. That is the fair way to do it, and plenty of closed sites do not bother.

We found no complaints from Danish players about lost money.

The site itself is not usable now. We tried twice on 10 September 2026. One attempt returned only a maintenance image. The other returned a security block saying we were unable to access the site. We are reporting both results rather than picking the more dramatic one. Neither is proof on its own, but neither shows a working casino.

Betit is also absent from a current list of Danish licence holders.

Anyone still owed money should try the Danish Gambling Authority, which licensed the site when it was trading.

Cancelling unsettled bets and returning the stake is the fair way to close a sportsbook. If a site closes while holding a long-term bet of yours and does not refund the stake, that is worth complaining about.

How we verified this record

Every claim on this page is graded by how firmly we could check it. Confirmed means we saw it in the operator’s own notice or in a document that cannot easily be faked. Observed means we saw it ourselves on the live site or domain on the date given. Unconfirmed means it has been reported but we could not prove it.

ObservedThe site does not serve a working casinoChecked twice on 10 September 2026. One attempt returned a maintenance image, the other a security block. Neither is proof of closure on its own.
ObservedBetit is absent from a current list of Danish licence holdersChecked against a third-party mirror of the Danish regulator list.
UnconfirmedWhy it closed, and why the closing date was delayedNo reason was given for either.
UnconfirmedWhether Betit still operates in any other marketWe could not establish this.
What we checked, and what we did not. We took the launch date and the company description from a Danish betting outlet interview published at launch. We took both closing dates and the treatment of unsettled bets from Danish coverage of the closure. We tried to load the site twice on 10 September 2026 and report both different results rather than choosing one. We checked a current list of Danish licence holders and confirmed Betit is not on it. We searched for player complaints and found none. We did not contact Betit Operations Limited. Last independently checked: 10 September 2026.
