01 · The site
An old betting business online
Tipbet was not a new brand thrown up overnight. The business behind it had been taking bets since 1995, originally in betting shops.
Its online arm held a Malta licence, numbered MGA/B2C/303/2015. It aimed mainly at German players and later added a Greek site as well.
That is a solid history. But age and a proper licence do not make a site safe.
02 · The shutdown
Suspended, then cancelled, then gone
This closure happened in three steps over more than a year.
On 28 November 2023 the Malta Gaming Authority suspended the licence. A suspension means the company must stop taking new business. The regulator then looks at it.
On 20 May 2024 the regulator cancelled the licence with immediate effect. That is final. The company was no longer allowed to run a gambling site under Malta rules.
The site itself is reported to have stopped working in early 2025, with one casino directory recording February 2025. We could only find that date in one place, so we grade it as unconfirmed.
The gap is worth noticing. For months after the licence was cancelled, the site was still there. A player looking at it during that time would have seen a working betting site.
03 · The money
Eleven complaints, from 63 euros to 60,000
A public complaints service holds eleven formal complaints against Tipbet.
The amounts run from 63 euros at the low end to 60,000 euros at the high end. The 60,000 euro case involved a payout the casino refused. That one is marked as resolved on the complaints file, which means the player got somewhere in the end.
The other complaints are the usual ones. Withdrawals that stalled. Arguments over identity checks.
We could not load the site on 10 September 2026. Our request was refused before any page came back. That could mean a country block, a block on automated visitors, or a dead site. We cannot tell which, so we will not claim one.
Anyone still owed money by Tipbet is in a hard spot. The Malta licence is gone. So the regulator has no live licence to act against. It is still worth writing to the Malta Gaming Authority, because it holds the enforcement file, but expect little.
04 · The receipts
How we verified this record
Every claim on this page is graded by how firmly we could check it. Confirmed means we saw it in the operator’s own notice or in a document that cannot easily be faked. Observed means we saw it ourselves on the live site or domain on the date given. Unconfirmed means it has been reported but we could not prove it.
